Riding is why we are all here and have formed this amazing Association of people. There is nothing quite like getting out on the trails with friends and family.

1988 – First year that the Northwest Trail Riders hosted the Mt. St. Helens 100 at GPNF.  Entry included a catered lunch mid-ride.

Summer of 1989 Cletha Walstrand of Boeing Employees M/C hosted “The Girls Day Out”. Six women staged in Greenwater and rode over the Naches Trail. In 1990 the event was renamed the NMA Ladies Trail Ride.

In the early 1990s, the Metropolitan Park District of Tacoma offered classes teaching kids to ride and provided dirt bikes for the class. The classes were held in the Tahuya State Forest. Matt Williams (Cascade Family M/C) was one of the instructors.

1994 included an NMA dual sport series with 8 dual sport events hosted by 7 different clubs. Stumpjumpers M/C hosted an AMA national dual sport ran out of Mt. Pilchuck.

The 2000 NMA Ladies Trail Ride was hosted by Laurie Jackson at Tahuya. 52 women and girls ranging in age from 8 to 87 years attended, raising $750 for the NMA Land Use Fund.

2015 – Sarah Forney hosted an all ladies ride at JR & Debbie Tonsgard’s property in Marysville. The weekend was attended by 11 women and sparked a vision for a larger annual ladies ride.

2019 – Stumpjumpers M/C Ladies Ride attendance was 120 riders. Three separate arrowed trail loops, field games, catered dinner and a bonfire made for an outstanding weekend.

2021 Stumpjumpers M/C Ladies ride at Hannegan Speedway was attended by a record 150 women and girls who enjoyed trail rides, skills competitions, a bike set-up clinic, complementary 3-way socket wrench for every rider (provided by Mt. Baker Moto-Sports), great food and an evening dance party. The demographics of our sport are changing as a result of and in evidence of this event.
